In 2000 I discovered bellydance classes in my local village hall with the beautiful Lisa Michaela. I was instantly hooked and studying with Lisa for four years instilled in me the skills and technique that I hope to pass on to my own students.
My love of bellydance was so huge, that I had to find another teacher immediately when I left Cambridgeshire and moved to the West Country.
I found Aliya Birch; a fantastic Raqs Sharqi teacher who took my dance in another direction. Sadly Aliya moved away and I was left without a regular class. At this point I began to use instructional DVDs and attend workshops, which I continue to do as frequently as possible.
Over the years I have been lucky enough to study with so many dancers that I truly admire. Some of these are listed as inspirations on the Links page of this site. Many do not have pages to link to, but can easily be found on www.youtube.com.
